A billion years ago, I made a little game for the game jam Ludum Dare (Ludum Dare #23). A lot of my games are procedural, and just an exploration of a game mechanic but this was one of the few that had a story that had to be hand written. This was something I enjoyed, and […]

Apart from the shading update, the rainbow crystals and the washing machines, I thought I’d write out the update loop. You’ll notice that there’s a few steps where addition and removal of objects are queued. This is to get around concurrent modification exceptions, but it also allows me to clean up nicely, all in one […]
This is my latest project. It is a procedural, triangle-grid dungeon crawler game for Android. What you see here is a work-in-progress screenshot of a few rooms while I’m testing out collisions and physics. Right now, the only thing you can do is find the ladder in each level, to go to the next generated […]
Time to start a new project! This one’s called Zombie Run, where you’ll actually play as a zombie. As you can tell from the screenshot, this project is in an oldschool pseudo-3d style, much like the sprites in Wolfenstein 3D. It’ll work with vanilla Java installed (no OpenGL). I get to practise my maths and […]
I’m In! My social life is on hold and I’m excited to be a part of Ludum Dare #27! I missed #26, but competed in 22,23,24 and 25. I enjoy both playing the games of others, and the feedback from the community about mine. This time I hope to include music in my game. (The […]
Before the competition It’s that time again folks, time to spend a weekend strapped to my PC, making the most awesome computer game in the short period of 48 hours, all from scratch. About Ludum Dare As usual, the theme is announced right when the competition starts. We’re currently in the theme-voting stage, and there […]
The results are in for the Ludum Dare 48-hour game competition. The theme this time around was “You are the villain” and I came up with the game “Chaos” There were 1327 entries in December 2012, the 25th running of the competition, and below are my results in rank and percentage Humor #56 Top 4.2% […]
I’m halfway through, and here’s what I’ve got so far: Tiny, isn’t it? Don’t worry, you’ll be able to upsize it. This time I decided to go with a Java Applet, rather than asking users to download a jar. I’ve got to have it tested on other computers this time, as my last entry […]
Back In highschool I made a aeroplane-shooter game inspired by games like Scramble Spirits. Looking back at it now it was poorly written, but it got me good marks at the time. Years later I attempted to recreate it in 3D in Java again. I suppose the project halted because the random level generation wasn’t interesting enough […]
I made a urinal simulator in Java with JOGL. It was a fun little experiment to simulate how guys select urinals to maximise the space around them. It got picked up on Reddit sometime later so the video got a bunch of views
